Notes from our guests...
I've stayed at Yoga House twice in the last several months. First, an end of summer wine harvest weekend, and most recently, a cozy winter hygge weekend. Clare and Pete were wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They are the most down to earth folks and treat you like family. I have food allergies/dietary restrictions that make it difficult to eat out sometimes. They made sure to have options that fit everyone's needs. The food was delicious, nourishing, comforting, and locally sourced. I ate some of the best meals of my life at Yoga House! Not only was the food incredible, the table was set in such a way that made me want to stay there all evening. Colorful dishes, fresh flowers, candles. Simply amazing! The house itself is cozy and beautiful. Even though it's only 90 minutes from Chicago, it feels like an entirely different world. The house is on several acres and is pretty in summer and winter both. Cats freely roam the property outside and inside are the two most adorable puppies. I enjoyed some much-needed quiet time away from home, with a good book, and a cute little pup snuggled up asleep in my lap. So relaxing! The yoga room is spacious, beautiful windows overlooking the woods, and fresh smells from the kitchen wafting in during morning yoga practice. In addition to the wonderful yoga and food, we went to a couple area wineries and hiked the dunes. We even experienced a VIP tour at the local brewery that Clare and Pete own, along with sampling some beer and a fulfilling lunch.
I had such a great time on both retreats and I cannot wait to go back one day soon! If you have the opportunity to attend a retreat, I highly recommend doing so. If you can't spend a weekend there, then take a day trip and attend one of Clare's classes, then enjoy lunch at the brewery. You will not be disappointed! ~ Shelley Merz
Just enjoyed a fantastic yoga class with Clare! Beautiful space with great energy and loved Clare's attentive nature and assists. If you want to be inspired, head to Moon Acres! ~SA
spent a 4-day weekend at Yoga House this winter, and it was gorgeous and so cozy! I can't wait to spend a summer weekend there too. The two puppies around playing and available for cuddles were the cherry on top for the weekend. I've always enjoyed Clare's yoga teaching style and her music tastes, and her restorative yoga almost put me to sleep. I wasn't expecting the seriously intoxicating food at Yoga House though. The crew spent hours putting together the most delicious, locally sourced food for every meal. Clare may want to consider renaming it the Yoga Foodie House. ~Julie Kramer
Yoga House was such an incredible experience! Everyone on our Wine Harvest Weekend Retreat appreciated each curated detail from the overall cozy feel of the house to the healthy and delicious nourishing meals. The hosts - Clare, Pete & Becca made the retreat extra special going above & beyond, completely exceeding expectations and of course Blue Sky, the sweetest dog was a favorite! We loved it so much we've already booked a Very Hygge Weekend for winter 2018! Carri, Fitness Culinary Retreats
Thanks again for such a great weekend Clare!
Of course you guys went above and beyond, as usual.
The food is so delicious and everyone can tell how much thought process you put into every dish! The nurture and love really does shine through in every meal.
That 10pm Restorative class was one for the books and it was so cool to do it late in the darkness and go right to bed ...like Midnight Mass!
Pete is such a fun tour guide and so hospitable, making sure everyone has everything they need!
Zak was so sweet too and really made an excellent co-host.
Everybody loved him!
Just wanted to to say how much we appreciate everything.
Wish I was coming back in March, but looking forward to seeing you in Lake Como sometime this year!
